C#, ASP.net and SQL Server Analyst / Programmer

Our client has a contract opportunity for an experienced Visual Studio developer join their team at one of the fastest-growing Colleges in the UK, located in Weston super Mare.

The contract offers a collegiate and inclusive work environment which would be expected from an award-winning College of Further Education.

The 6 month contract will be awarded to an experienced developer with front end development skills in C#, ASP.net and SQL Server. The project will involve modifying and integrating the College's Learner Portal, as well as adding some new functionality.

The C#, ASP.net and SQL Server Analyst / Programmer would work with the appropriate team to understand the changes and to develop more detailed specifications from the existing high level systems requirements documentation.

Potentially part of the work may involve styling / re-theming the Learner Portal, making good front end skills highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities of the C#, ASP.net and SQL ServerAnalyst / Programmer

  • To provide support and assistance for new Learner Portal developments and system improvements including technical support for project design phases
  • To draw up Systems Test Scripts and Scenarios. Participate in System Testing and create and maintain support and design documentation
  • To provide implementation and post implementation support of developments into a BAU environment including direct support to colleagues and support of formal handover of solutions to BAU teams
  • To complete all tasks accurately and on time in accordance with specific job description

Qualifications and Experience required for the C#, ASP.net and SQL Server Analyst / Programmer

  • Minimum two years' experience in a similar role
  • Key skills in C#, and ASP.net
  • Good knowledge of server sided development especially SQL.
  • Previous knowledge of Education processes and systems would be an advantage
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Numerate with good problem solving and analytical skills
  • Team player with a flexible approach to working and also able to work on own initiative
  • Computer Skills - C#, ASP.net and SQL Server
