Due to a recent project award Mott MacDonald have a new requirement for a solid quantity surveyor to support a client lead initiative on landmark transportation projects within the local area.
The role will involve the following:
Responsible for monitoring and reporting the financial status of the programme, to ensure deliverability within the funding envelope and compliance with programme governance.
Budget Management
Compiling of Programme and Project budgets using the project level Estimates (prepared by others).
Management of Budgets, EAC, Accruals and forecasting at Asset Level detail within Conject.
Monitoring spend to date and forecasting to spend target and advising on mitigation strategies to recover if applicable.
Monthly updating of financial data in management Report
Monthly updating of client ERP to accurately forecast financial year spend on asset level basis.
Ensuring compliance with financial Year End accounting practices.
Commercial
Monitoring the contract commitment
Advocate of ensuring Value for Money for client
Ensuring contract Works Information are compliant with programme Cost Management requirements
Coordination with Client Accounts team to ensure prompt payment to suppliers and auditability
Helping to ensure auditability of all cost transactions
Setting up and managing client Project Codes in client ERP and project systems (E5 and Atrium)
Monitoring the spend of local area direct delivered works.
Monitoring correct usage of Project Codes to control costs.
Cost Management System Administration
Responsible for the administration, functionality and outputs of the cost control module.(Conject)
Manage User Permissions for Financial Control module
Liaising with software provider Consultant on system issues and business improvement solutions.
Change Management
Initiator of Change Control process in programme/ project cost management tool and assisting Programme Lead with review and subsequent approval of Change Requests in Project systems (Conject)
Assisting Project Managers and Commercial Managers with the compilation of Change Requests.
Administer approved Change Requests, in terms of Project and Contract Change
We welcome application from candidates with the following:
* A degree in a construction, cost, quantity surveying or engineering subject.
* Working towards a relevant professional qualification.
* Demonstrable cost management experience in construction or an engineering based project environment
* Experience in using SaaS - Cost management tool sand other database software including having advanced excel skills
* Able to develop programme, project, contract level budgets in coordination with other disciplines.
* An understanding of interpretation and representation of risk in cost management.
* Experience of working in large teams and for taking responsibility commercial and cost management outputs
* Ability to work independently in a client facing role on a regular basis.
