As a result of 25%+ year on year growth, a newly created role has arisen for a Supply Chain / Inventory Control Manager. This is a hands-on key strategic management role to support the companies move into a new purpose-built world class advanced manufacturing facility that has been commissioned and is scheduled for completion in 2018.

The company is recognised as a global leader in the advanced manufacturing of specialist products for leading-edge technology applications. It is part of a growing US Nasdaq listed multinational company that employs over 1500 people around the world. The company manufacture both complex high volume / low-value products as well as high value/ low volume or unique one-off products.

As the Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for:

- Having direct responsibility for an annual budget of >GBP1 million along with four staff members who cover planning scheduling and buying coordination;
- Inventory reduction, looking at setting up MRP systems with an emphasis on capacity planning, scheduling and logistics processes as a key priority;
- Taking ownership of all internal material management systems;
- Working closely with other US parent group colleagues with the goal of driving improvements, optimising and incorporating efficient cross-company processes.

The role will grow to include outsourcing management as the business operation expands.

The successful Supply Chain Manager will have the following skills and experience:

- Chartered procurement professional such as MCIPS with a HND / Degree equivalent or above in a business or related qualification;
- Demonstrable hands-on management level experience covering supply chain, inventory management and logistics within a complex advanced technology manufacturing environment - ideally aerospace, defence, semiconductor, components, precision engineering;
- Working knowledge of capacity planning, production scheduling, logistics processes MRP and Lean along with experience of ERP, MRP, MES systems - Ideally Javelin or Oracle
- Conversant with implementing Lean Material Flow systems and continuous improvement
- Export compliance experience with ideally an understanding of ITAR knowledge/trading implications.

In return, the Supply Chain / Inventory Control Manager will receive a salary of GBP55,000 - GBP60,000 pa plus benefits including private healthcare, life assurance, 25 days holiday and pension contribution scheme.

The role is based in Taunton, relocation can be provided for the right candidate (Typically a fund to cover probation period property rental plus removal costs/legal expenses)
