Peter Smith is recruiting for a Chromatography Technician to join a Food and Drinks R&D company based in Gloucestershire, on a full time, permanent basis. This client provides scientific, technical, and legislative support to the food, drinks and allied industries worldwide.

The client is seeking a degree qualified individual in chemistry or equivalent with some laboratory experience to assist with pesticide residue analysis. Testing is to be taken in line with LC-MS/MS and GC-MS/MS techniques and the client is offering a salary range of GBP16,500 - GBP21,000 in exchange for this experience.

The role will be placed in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. This department contains around 50 staff, and comprises operations including Chromatography, Biochemistry, Microscopy, and Food Composition.

The main purpose of the role will be to
-Analyse and interpret results relating to testing of different foods
-Carry out administrative duties related to technical work
-Collate data and produce written reports with guidance from more senior staff members
Further responsibilities will include:
-Compliance with both departmental and organisational policies, and management systems
-Ensure that results and relevant information are kept in an orderly manner

In order to be considered for this role, you will be required to have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
-Degree in chemistry or equivalent
-Experience in using GC-MS/MS and LC-MS/MS instrumentation
-Working knowledge of Microsoft office
-Worked with an accreditation scheme
-Flexibility to multi task
-Team player
