THE VACANCY

We currently have a vacancy for an experienced Sales Development Manager within our Office Supplies Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and mentoring a team of Corporate Development Managers, contributing to the development and implementation of our sales strategy whilst ensuring that we are building strong and long lasting customer relationships.

The role is primarily based from our Head Office which is located in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire; however it also involves extensive travel throughout the UK. The ideal candidate therefore needs to be located within a commutable distance (under 1 hour) of Cheltenham.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

The successful candidate will be located no further than 1hrs drive from Cheltenham. The candidate will be a highly effective and credible individual with a successful and proven record of accomplishment of developing new business and business growth, with all sales targets being met or exceeded.

You will be responsible for coaching and mentoring a team of experienced sales professionals, ensuring that you meet both their individual development needs and the needs of the business. Your aim will be to enhance the daily performance of each individual; including their activity, account management, productivity, new business generated and gross profit generated. You will coach them through a personal development plan that pulls from their strengths, works on their weaknesses to create a motivated, successful and inspirational team.

You will be confident, personable and a partnership builder with an ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders including Directors and staff across the organisation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to formation of Sales and Marketing strategy
  • Creation and delivery of "gap fill" and "cross selling " strategy
  • Contribute to sales forecasting for Office Supplies Division
  • Able to deliver and own the strategic vision for Commercial's Office Supplies division
  • Work as part of the Mid Management team to create and implement best practice
  • Ensure dashboards are accurate and relevant to growth strategy
  • Monthly team training programme to enhance BDM's skills and Group growth strategy

New Business

  • Responsible for providing accurate reports between BDM's, Mid Managers, Directors and Finance showing pipeline
  • Maintain and report a pipeline that will deliver future growth plans and in line with annual budget and Key Performance Indicators
  • Ensure CRM is utilised to allow focussed specific marketing to existing customers

Margin Opportunities

  • Review top 50 accounts for margin and gap fill opportunities on a monthly basis
  • Work with the various departments including CAM's, BDM's and Purchasing to capture margin opportunities

Additional

Supporting the Sales Director with regards to monthly reporting requirements, monthly sales meetings and also ad hoc specific customer requests.

WORKING HOURS

Our core business hours are 9:00am - 5:30pm Monday to Friday. However, occasional overtime and overnight stays will be required to meet the demands of the business.
