Our client is looking for a Group/Global Training Manager to consolidate and drive their training and development activities into a coherent, planned and effective programme. The main focus of the role is the design, delivery and implementation of the overall learning and development strategy to support business performance.

The organisation is product/sales focused and therefore they especially want to increase employee knowledge and capability in product, applications and sales skills.

This is a wide ranging role including personal delivery of training workshops whilst also supporting robust systems, records and processes to ensure training gets done, are maintained in the busy and demanding environment of the organisation's sales locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing a training matrix record for all locations to identify, plan, record and budget their training activities
  • Assisting General Managers to complete TNA for their locations
  • Developing and delivering training programmes e.g. sales skills
  • Developing global training tools and resources e.g. e-learning solutions
  • Maintaining a library of all related training materials
  • Increasing the quantity and range of product training to meet global demands
  • Delivery Management Skills training for managers and leaders
  • Setting up a worldwide set of quick workshops based on TNA from appraisals and stakeholders views
  • Identifying and managing cost-effective delivery methods for training e.g. train the trainer and product champions
  • Providing trainer coaching and support
  • Providing timely and accurate reporting of key training metrics
  • Managing training and development budget
  • Assisting HR and General Managers with apprentice and graduate trainee programmes as necessary
  • Coaching and developing the Group L&D team

Person Specification

  • Previous L&D Manager experience and a commercial background
  • Sufficient technical and learning ability to assimilate the product features that form part of the company's sales strategy
  • Strong training delivery background in industry
  • Strong coaching and people management skills
  • Proven ability to establish, maintain and grow training programs that add value to the business
  • Global training experience would be advantageous with previous experience of frequent international travel
  • Experience of managing a complex set of matrix relationships
  • Cultural understanding and flexibility to design and tailor programs accordingly
  • Strong communication, IT and organisational skills
