The Role:

The successful Scientist would join the Primary Production and Processing department. It provides scientific and technical services to a wide range of clients, with a current focus on the agriculture and horticulture sector, milling and baking sectors, food manufacturers and retailers. The department also has important relationships with government agencies (most notably the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board) and the academic sector.

The department comprises a team of experienced scientists, technologists and technicians in three sections - Primary Production, Research and Consultancy, and Ingredients and Primary Product Characterisation. It is currently split into three major activities: technical and scientific development and consultancy, routine analysis and testing and applied research.

You will be planning and execution of ingredient process trials and associated technical work in line with project briefs.

You will be preparing project and client reports to agreed standards and level of detail.

You will be preparing project proposals for agreement with line manager and client.

Requirements for Scientist (Food Industry) : science degree, thorough understanding of ingredient processing, experience with pilot plants, laboratory quality management processes, health and safety experience
