Our client is currently seeking an A&E Independent Domestic Violence Advisor to give practical, emotional, support to people who are victims of domestic abuse who are using the A&E department at Gloucester Royal hospital. This will involve working unsocial hours.
In this key role you will work effectively with the wider staff team, other professionals such as social care, the police and health professionals in order to reduce the risk for victims. You will also act as the voice of the victim within the Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference and give advice/training to other health professionals at the hospital to be able to recognise domestic abuse and how to respond.
This role is part of the Gloucestershire Domestic Abuse Support Service which, in addition to support services, operates a Helpline and manages Places of Safety properties. The team is part of the organisation-wide Supported Housing service and consists of staff employed by both our client and Splitz.
To be successful in this role you must have an IDVA qualification or Women's Aid occupational standards qualification. You will have the ability to use email, Microsoft Office and other relevant IT systems. Experience of working with victims of domestic abuse and in a multi agency environment are essential. Knowledge of working with B.M.E. clients who are victims of domestic abuse and experience of working with victims of honour based violence, F.G.M. and forced marriage are required. Further to this experience of supporting victims of domestic abuse through the court system is also necessary.
Due to the nature of the role you will be able to meet the requirement to visit remote sites using own transport is essential.
