The Role

Fantastic role for a technically capable product designer to develop new items in mirror, lighting & furniture categories.

You will be designing product for major multiple retailers, national & regional builder's merchants and a nationwide network of independent showrooms.

Products are manufactured to clients' own in-house designs and specifications from sources all over the world.

The Applicant

A graduate with a strong degree in product / industrial design or mechanical / electrical engineering.

The products within this category generally incorporate electronics components so experience of the integration of electric componentry and the applicable compliance standards is vital.

CAD skills - they operate latest versions of SolidWorks & will require either a good understanding of this or compatible software.

A minimum of 3 years relevant product development experience.

A good understanding of the manufacturing processes & materials used in the introduction of our form of mirrors & cabinets. This must include LED lighting and preferably some understanding of the following - aluminium & plastic extrusion, steel fabrication, chrome plating, anodising, injection moulding.

A flair for & interest in the design of consumer products.

Our suppliers are based mostly in Europe and the Far East. The position will require overseas travel in visiting these suppliers and appropriate exhibitions. Prior experience of dealing with overseas manufacturing is vital.

Hands-on approach to product development with good practical skills.

Excellent project management skills.
