Our client is a 100% New Zealand owned and operated, IANZ accredited asbestos lab. Over a long period of time they have developed a sound reputation for the quality and prompt delivery of services. It is a company that prides itself on being client focused and provides a wide spectrum of services including Asbestos Surveys, Sampling & Testing, Training, etc., across a well-established national network of commercial, residential and industrial clients. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Asbestos Analyst experience to join their Wellington-based team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Processing and Analysis of samples in accordance with company procedures with a commitment to provide exceptional services to clients.
  • Preparation and supply of field kits.
  • Preparing reports, completing data entry into the prescribed databases accurately and efficient reporting to customers.
  • Provide asbestos related Technical Consultancy to external and internal clients.
  • Build and manage excellent customer relationships.
  • Participating in Audits including both internal and external quality assurance programs.
  • Ensuring compliance with company and client Health and Safety procedures.
  • Mentoring and Training junior staff.

To be considered for this role, you will ideally have the following skills and attributes:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Science, Environmental Science or a related field.
  • Ideally 3 years of experience in asbestos analysis.
  • IANZ signatory with a sound understanding of ISO 17025 standards is advantageous.
  • BOHS P401, BOHS P402 or NZ equivalent.
  • Sound health and safety knowledge.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with high attention to detail.
  • A diligent, hardworking and 'can do' attitude.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal office hours where you strive to be a great team player.
  • A full clean driver's license
