Job description
Department Purpose & Structure
The Global Service Management Team is responsible for shaping and running Allen & Overy's applications and infrastructure. This includes supporting the applications, infrastructure and devices employed across the business.
The team is responsible for 3rd line support of the global infrastructure with frequent interaction and execution of the ITIL disciplines of incident, change, problem, release and capacity management.
Role Purpose
The Desktop Support Analyst is accountable for supporting and maintaining the following areas:
End point / devices including desktops, laptops, mobile / smart devices both firm and customer owned
Provide 3rd line support and maintenance of SSCM software distribution tool and associated systems to both servers and devices
User configuration management eg RES Powerfuse
Packaging technology and processes (Wise and Packaging Studio)
Efficiency of login and log off process
Mobile device management - as defined by security polices
In depth knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy
SSCM task sequences, OSD deployments, maintenance and new image creation
Regular monitoring and maintenance tasks
End to end ownership of incidents

Key Requirements
Technical expert within this discipline in 3rd line role
Detailed practical knowledge of the operation and maintenance of IT infrastructure and services within a Microsoft Technology environment
Microsoft Windows Server - 2003/2008/2012
Microsoft Windows XP & Windows 7
Min 5 years IT experience (at least 2 years experience in a 3rd line supporting role supporting a number of technologies listed above)
Experience of working in an ITIL environment
Strong organisational skills
Excellent customer / client skills
Experience of working in a global environment with appreciation of multiple cultures
Qualifications:
Ideally - A level standard educated
MCSE, MCTS Windows 7, MCP Windows XP preferred
ITIL foundation preferred
