This is an opportunity to join an innovative, development and manufacturing company with a commitment to quality. Their refrigerant and energy monitoring equipment along with their in-house monitoring services are utilised within the retail, commercial and military sectors worldwide.

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Product Manager - Performance Management is responsible for performance management product and services portfolio leadership including planning, development and execution of the product portfolio strategy throughout the product(s) lifecycle including: defining product(s) and service(s), target audience, market position and value proposition; gathering and prioritising customer and market product requirements; creating and deploying sales and sales channel tools, differentiating product(s), competitive position and channel(s) to market; and working closely with engineering, supply chain, sales, marketing communications and support resources to ensure revenue, margin and customer satisfaction goals are exceeded. The Product Manager shall ensure that the product portfolio road map and strategy is in alignment with the company's overall strategy and goals, and represents the company on related regulatory, industry consensus standards, and thought leadership committees. The Product Manager owns product portfolio, revenue and margin objectives and collaborates with field sales resources to exceed those objectives.

Required knowledge/skills

- Bachelor Degree, technical discipline preferred. MBA a plus
- Minimum 5 years product management experience, ideally in software and data management with a focus on instrumentation and sensor related industries
- Experience in marketing technical products and / or data service in project based applications
- Experience marketing to end users with multi-level contractor or service provider influences
- Experience leading cross functional product development projects from concept through launch
- Field sales experience a plus
- Experience in marketing and business development across international markets
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently as well as within and/or leading a project team
- Ability to work cross functionally and interact effectively with a diverse customer audience
- Strategic thinker with strong planning and organization skills
- Skills to work effectively with Microsoft Office tools including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Financially astute
- Effective presentation skills
- Willingness to travel including international as-needed.

Responsibilities

- Team member / owner of all approved New Product Development (NPD) projects (large within the corporate tracking process and small derivatives within the ECN/Eng Lab process). Owner of VOC integration, product requirements specification and NPD marketing requirements documentation (MRD), working in tandem with engineering resources.
- Development of the product roadmap as a living, guiding document to drive strategic product portfolio initiatives and actions with a vision for the future
- Portfolio management including annual pricing review and adjustments, product portfolio forecasting and obsolesce planning and implementation through S&OP process; supporting operations related product issues and opportunities.
- Maintain up to date competitive product comparisons and market share analysis
- Create and implement sales tools and training materials covering applications, target customer definition, product selection and demonstration performance, competitive positioning, and portfolio differentiation messaging.
- Work with the MarCom Manager to deliver effective product launch materials and content for targeted and measurable advertising and promotional campaigns
- Provide input to MarCom manger on trade show positioning and advertising activities to promote product portfolio and expand market awareness
- Work with the MarCom team to develop product bulletins, technical papers, application notes and product use and maintenance documents to advance the positioning and differentiation of the product portfolio
- Prepare articles and white papers for publication and periodically present papers at trade meetings and conferences to present the company as industry and application experts (supported by MarCom)
- Travel to promote / develop product portfolio with customers, sales organization, aligned channel partners, trade shows and regulatory / industry association meetings as appropriate
- Prepare and review reports and interpret data and trends to understand the business, influences and opportunities for product portfolio related tactical actions
- Act as the voice of the company on regulatory and industry consensus standards committees
- Day to day oversight and prioritisation of product portfolio initiatives and activates
- Other duties as directed by the Director of Marketing
