Transport Planner required to assist with the running of the transport office and the planning of routes for a fleet of vehicles operating on a dedicated contract

Our client, based in Bridgwater, are an established Haulage business based within Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain
Description
The role of Transport Planner will require the successful candidate to work within a fast moving Transport office looking after driver and customer engagement as well as route planning. Responsibilities will include:
- Efficient planning of routes to ensure maximum customer satisfaction and the changing of plans as required, based on demand and vehicle location
- Maintaining an excellent standard of communication with customers, drivers (including briefing/debriefing) and the internal team
- Booking loads and informing the appropriate teams of any changes, including utilising available systems
- Subcontract work in an efficient manner to approved parties in line with company policy
- Ensuring Health & Safety is adhered to at all times
Profile
The successful candidate will have the following attributes:
- Experience working in a Transport office as a Planner, Coordinator or similar positions
- Engagement with customers on a daily basis
- Excellent IT Literacy and Transport system knowledge
- Knowledge of UK Road Law & Legislation (CPC will be advantageous)
- Ability to work in a fast moving environment and adaptable to last minute change
