Job Title: Accounts Assistant

Job Ref: VLL/19025

Location: Shepton Mallet

Salary: GBP18,000 - GBP23,000+ study support

Purpose of the role:

In this newly created role you will be part of a growing finance team. Responsible for providing financial support to the Finance Managers. Maintaining the integrity of financial processing, regulatory requirements and analytical support with relevant interrogation and analysis.

Specific duties to include:

Timely production of internal financial reports

Ensuring that appropriate systems and internal controls are implemented and maintained

Managing weekly expenses payments ensuring they comply with company policy

Processing of supplier invoices

Reconcile supplier statements

Liaising with suppliers for escalated calls

Preparation of weekly supplier payments list by company

Bank reconciliation including posting of payments and receipts

Assisting with cash management and treasury including banking duties such as the management of payments and supplier payment runs

Maintenance of financial ledgers (general ledger and purchase ledger) and accounting processes for all companies

Aiding in the preparation of monthly management accounts and cost reports

Providing information where necessary to the Finance Manager

Skills and experience required:

Preferably AAT Qualified or soon to be wishing to continue to study towards CIMA or, a Qualified by Experience applicant who can demonstrate they have the skills and experience required for this role.

Computer literate with experience of using Excel, Word and Accounts packages such as SAGE, able to work in a dynamic team environment, good communication skills both written and oral.

Communicative with external and internal stakeholders, ability to work to strict deadlines, high level of accuracy, keen eye for detail.

Ensures tasks are executed accurately through attention to detail and thorough review on completion. Provides information in a form that is tailored to the user's needs and abilities and is clear and accurate. Carefully monitors the details and quality of own and others work promoting attention to detail across the organisation. Completes all work according to procedures and standards
