Production Planner

My client a leading specialist within its field is looking to recruit an experienced Production Planner to join their successful team based at their plant in Berkeley.

Role/Responsibility:

- Provides detailed schedules for production equipment; arranges scheduling to meet commitments, establish priorities, and optimize productivity.
- Monitors movement of material through the production cycle.
- Continual monitoring and organising to ensure schedule adherence against 'Work to Lists'.
- Support function to Project Engineers, manufacturing Engineers and shop floor.
- Support function to Production Contract Scheduler.
- Attend daily production shop floor meetings.
- Issue Production sheets to shop floor.
- Responsible for overseeing various sections.
- Checking materials and ensure that any delivery notes are updated.
- Quality checks and problem solving on assembly and testing.
- Stock checks.
- Procurement across UK and Europe as and when required.
- Completes short-term demand planning analysis and recommends solutions to capacity problems.
- Liaising with various departments and price negotiation on transport.

Required Skills:

- Previous experience working within a fast paced manufacturing environment is essential.
- Previous Supervisory experience is essential.
- Knowledge of MRP and ERP systems is essential.
- Must have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Ability to manage own work load within a fast paced environment.

Required Experience /Qualification /Attributes:

* Proactive and committed team player

* Proven ability to work autonomously and proactively

* Good interpersonal skills

* Proficient in use of Microsoft Office - Excel and Word

- Manual handling.
- IFS (ERP) Goods Receipting, Parts Kitting, Despatch experience.
- IOSH trained.
