My client is looking to recruit a technician to join their established team in Berkeley.
Hours will be either 7am-4.30pm or 8am-5.30pm. Overtime is paid at time and a half
You will be required to inspect, maintain and repair all vehicles on fleet, including municipal vehicles, in order to ensure roadworthiness and compliance in line with all relevant legislation and Company standards to maximise fleet availability and thereby maximise fleet utilisation and maintain customer satisfaction to the highest level.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Effective Vehicle Repairs
• To carry out vehicle inspection examinations in line with VOSA procedure and Company policy.
• To test drive vehicles provided correct driving licence is held.
• To effectively and efficiently use various specialist equipment, including hand-held and onboard compression gauges and diagnostic computers.
• To safely and effectively use power tools, machine tools and equipment as and when required and safe to do so, for the task for which it was designed and return to correct place of storage after use.
• To complete all necessary paperwork required and ensure record of work undertaken is accurately recorded on computer systems at the end of each day.
Essential Skills
• Commercial vehicle maintenance and servicing experience
• Municipal vehicle maintenance and servicing experience
• Thorough working knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems
• Diagnostic and problem solving skills
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals
• Computer literate
Desirable Skills
• VOSA HGV Inspection Course
• HGV Apprentice Served Qualification
• HGV Class 2 (minimum)
