Are you passionate about IT, possess strong communication skills and looking to develop your career in the exciting world of new technology? If so, a central London based cutting edge technology solutions provider are looking for an Apprentice Software Developer to support their expanding organisation. As part of an IT Apprenticeship, you'll gain hands-on experience, training towards industry recognised qualifications all whilst earning.

Based near St Paul's in London with offices in Australia, Singapore and New York, they have grown steadily since forming in early 2015. Fuelled by their commitment to innovation their goal is to provide their clients with significant value through the application of blockchain, smart contracts and other transformational technologies.
Due to this continued growth, they are looking to employ an Apprentice Software Developer focussed on full stack web technologies primarily using node.js.
The role will suit someone who loves working on solving logical problems, web apps/sites, and has a passionate interest in web technologies in general.
You will work closely with an Agile team including UX/UI Designers and Developers where you are responsible for delivering highly scalable web-based and mobile applications. You will conduct end to end to project lifecycle project starts with rapid prototyping through to delivery, across solution architecture design.
As an Apprentice Software Developer, your core role includes:
Developing and enhancing our API's
Running developments of our apps to AWS
Connecting our front-end apps to our API's
What experience and skills do I need?
We're looking for someone who has excellent communication skills; written and oral. You don't need loads of professional experience in IT, however, you'll need at least five GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C or above including; Maths, IT or Science, and English. Further, having A-levels or equivalent (BTEC, Level 3 Apprenticeship, etc.) is preferable.
Ideally, we are looking for an IT-enthusiast with knowledge or experience of the following:
Languages and platforms:
Exposure to JavaScript and node.js
Using JavaScript compilers, including babel and ES6/7 (not essentials)
Exposure to dev ops tools including Docker
Operating Systems:
Mac and Linux
Other areas:
A disciplined approach when you start coding ensuring good documentation is applied and tests are created (we will teach you how to create these tests)
Attention to detail, informing the team if something doesn't look right, there is no such thing as a stupid question!
Your Accelerated training programme:
Firebrand offers a unique Higher Level 4 IT Apprenticeship scheme. We provide the fastest award-winning IT training and certifications with on-going support - all with the ultimate goal of securing a long-term IT career.
During your two-year programme, Firebrand provides residential training at our distraction-free training centre. Our accelerated training means you'll achieve certifications with partners like, ITIL and Microsoft faster, giving you more time to put your new skills into practice within a professional working environment. You'll also be recognised by the British Computer Society (BCS) for entry onto the register of IT Technicians, confirming SFIA level 3 professional competence.
Future career prospects:
By working hard and demonstrating your ability, drive and commitment throughout your 12 - 24 month apprenticeship scheme, upon completion you may be offered a permanent contract ensuring you have further opportunities to continue growing within this exciting organisation
