Our client, based in Berkeley, Sharpness, are one of the largest logistics companies within the U.K. The company have over 50 years of industry experience and the employees are at the heart of the logistics operation, led by the knowledge and expertise of the management team. They are seeking Warehouse Operatives for ongoing assignments with permanent opportunities for suitable candidates.
The Positions are suited to individuals who enjoy manual work, work well in fast paced environments and enjoy working in teams. Previous experience is desirable but not essential as training can be provided.
SALARY & BENEFITS: GBP8 - GBP8.70 per hour (depending on shifts), plus overtime pay rate of time and a half. Rate of pay will increase when taken on permanent
WORKING HOURS: Various shifts to include: Monday to Friday 8 am - 4 pm, 6 am - 2 pm or 2 pm - 10 pm. Nights: Sunday to Thursday 10 pm - 6 am.
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Ongoing with permanent opportunities for the right candidates.
KEY SKILLS: A good level of fitness, manual handling communication skills, team players, ability to follow instructions.
Key Responsibilities of a Warehouse Operative
* You will be responsible for manually unloading of stock from containers
* Stacking of stock on pallets and wrapping of the pallets
* Picking, packing and labeling of products
* Moving and storing of stock within the warehouse
* Maintaining a clean and tidy warehouse
THE CANDIDATE
The successful candidates will have an enjoyment of manual work, be physically fit and happy working as part of a team. You will have safety boots and will be required to wear a high visibility vest (provided by Clarico)
Key experience essential for the role :
* A good level of fitness, with the ability to work at a fast pace
* Ability to communicate well and follow instructions accurately
* Ability to work well alone using initiative and equally well as a member of a team
* Accuracy and attention to detail
* Must be reliable, committed and hardworking
