First Officer / Finance Support Officer

Job Title: FIRST Officer (Financial Independence, Resilience, Skills and Training)

Location: Long Stratton

Salary: £21,963 - £24,964 per annum

Position: Full Time, Temporary until 1st April 2018

Working in the innovative FIRST project you will be part of a multi-agency environment, providing advice and support to Help Hub customers and Council temporary accommodation occupants. With excellent communication skills, you will work with colleagues to support customers to achieve financial independence and sustain accommodation. You will help customers to access health and wellbeing services and opportunities around employment and training.

The council is seeking motivated and adaptable individuals who have knowledge of welfare benefits, money management and housing issues and with the ability to manage their own workload.

Experience of dealing challenging customers and difficult situations in a sensitive manner is also essential. You will carry out a variety of tasks including assessing customer needs, support planning and providing one to one support. Your role will include data reporting, safeguarding vulnerable people and linking customers to the most suitable information and advice sources.

Please note this role is subject to a satisfactory disclosure from the Disclosure & Barring Service. The role will involve travelling throughout the district working with customers in the community, in their own homes and in Council temporary accommodation.
