Hill Robinson is a leading global yacht management company with offices in the UK, France, Monaco, Cyprus, USA and the Isle of Man.  We offer a full range of advisory and support services to the owners of large yachts, including project management for new builds, refits and special projects, routine and emergency technical and operational support, safety and security, financial administration, charter management, crew administration, crew selection & recruitment and corporate services (through our regulated business unit in the Isle of Man).

In the UK, activities include operational and financial administration, and certain inter-company services such as the arrangement of IT support.  Hill Robinson’s (beautifully located) administrative office in Conwy is seeking an experienced qualified or near-qualified chartered accountant, a new position reflecting the rapid growth and development of the business.

ROLE

This challenging role encompasses all accounting matters for Hill Robinson’s UK companies, together with a lead role in the management accounting and budgeting across all Hill Robinson companies worldwide.  The appointee will handle the company’s banking arrangements, and assist with payments administration and treasury management. The role will also contribute towards the maintenance of client KYC and co-ordination of intercompany fees between Hill Robinson operations worldwide.

The appointee will be required to provide management accounts and ad hoc financial reports as and when required and to oversee UK bookkeeping and invoicing. Apart from accounting the ideal candidate will have strong inter-personal skills, the ability to deal with day to day administrative matters, strong organisational skills and an eye for detail. Candidates will be expected to liaise with external parties such as clients, suppliers, other Hill Robinson offices, banks, auditors and other professional advisers.

REQUIREMENTS

This role is ideally suited to an experienced and competent accountant, with hands-on experience of accounting software and a willingness to learn new applications & procedures where required by the business.  Successful candidates are likely to have at least three years’ experience in a responsible accounting role.

Previous experience in international accounting and/or consolidation of accounts across a group of companies would be an advantage.  Experience in luxury sectors such as yachting, aviation or private office would be welcomed but is not an essential requirement.

The successful applicant should be comfortable in a small team, willing to travel occasionally to other offices or industry events, and to be responsive to the needs of a fast-moving business.  The person must have the have the ability to work unsupervised and on their own initiative with the ability to work under pressure and comply with strict deadlines.

SALARY

Salary package will be commensurate with experience.
