Retail Merchandiser/Buyer

I am currently representing a progressive company who are looking to expand their Buying team with a Merchandiser/Buyer. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the retail/distribution industry within a role that is not limited to purely either Buying, Demand Planning or Analysing; and instead requires a combination of the three roles.
You will be given a set of accounts and products to nurture and maintain, using a relationship/consultative approach. You will manage supplier relationships, range management, ordering stock & sales & margin performance within specified categories, enabling the business to continue to grow and develop.
Additionally, you will manage the intake of stock and maintain/improve stock availability. You will be managing reviews for product ranges, suggesting products be discontinued where appropriate.
We are looking for someone who has experience within a buying/merchandising role (specifically figure analysis using advanced Excel functions). Ideally you will also have had Buying experience, but my client can be flexible if you have at least had experience in supplier communication.
The successful candidate would likely come from a retail or distributor background rather than a made-to-order industrial product background, and will ideally have experience of working with established brands, but candidates from all backgrounds are invited to apply.
