PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Working as part of a small but very busy team, you will be responsible for the preparation of Management Accounts.

As Management Accountant you will be comfortable working along whilst still part of a team. You will be qualified either through studies, experience or a mixture.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Produce the monthly management accounts. This includes but is not limited to - Preparing and posting allocations, journals, prepayments and accruals.
- Make sure the monthly timetable is adhered to and no deadlines are missed.
- Ensure all financial elements have appropriate backup.
- Ensure accounting treatment is in line with accounting policies.
- Cash flow forecasting
- Assist with reconciliation of the trial balance, looking for inaccurate postings and anomalies. Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliation file is completed monthly.
- Ownership of general ledger coding structure and work with team to ensure coding is accurate.
- Preparing reports for senior management
- Continually work on improving the accuracy of month end accounts.

- Ensure meaningful, accurate and timely reporting of performance against targets. Production of all month end packs, including FSGs, associated commentaries and KPIs.
- Review monthly business performance, present trend and benchmarking analysis of key P&L, cash flow and balance sheet lines and identify the key drivers in order to explain business performance.
- Provide timely, accurate and meaningful management information on an ad hoc basis.
- Continually look to assess and improve existing systems and procedures to ensure the timely delivery of quality management information.
- Reporting on the business working capital position, including cash flow management and forecasting and balance sheet analysis.
- Profit improvement plan ownership.
- Lead the production of statutory financial statements including preparation of schedules for audit and tax computations as required.
- Producing the annual budget and quarterly forecast reporting which will underpin the delivery of the Companies Strategic Plan.
- Responsible for the accuracy of the financial records and ensuring that the system of internal controls is adequate and adhered to consistently.
- Build strong relationships with finance shared service, group finance & operational staff.
- Support UK Finance Manager as required.

JOB HOLDER PROFILE

- Strong analytical skills with a commitment to attention to detail, output quality and timeliness.
- Part qualified or finalist CIMA/ACCA / ACA or equivalent.
- Excellent system skills including MS Office. Sage experience ideal but not essential
- Current driving licence
- Strong Interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels, internally and externally.
- Ability to communicate financial information to financial and non financial employees.
- Experience of developing and implementing new systems and procedures.
- Must be a team player with enthusiasm and a can do attitude that will look to drive change where necessary
- Positive and proactive, helping to form a team culture within the finance department.
- Good written and verbal communications skills
- Ideally will have exposure to multi-currency and statutory returns.
- Confidential and discrete in all aspects of work and information handled in the course of their duties.
- Able to work under pressure in a fast paced environment.
- Reliable and accountable for their actions.
