Northumberland College has two main campuses at Ashington and Kirkley Hall and centres at Hexham and Berwick.

We offer hundreds of full-time and part-time courses, work with students aged 14-18, mature students, higher education students and employers from numerous industry sectors.

The primary purpose of this role is to improve and develop the quality assurance of a range of key performance indicators across the college and to work with managers to implement quality monitoring, improvement and intervention strategies.

To make a significant contribution to the implementation of plans and strategies for raising quality and standards - maximising student retention, attendance, achievement, progression and improving outcomes for learners.

To contribute proactively across all curriculum teams in order to help deliver first class services to all stakeholders, customers, reacting to demand and responding to feedback as necessary.

Key Duties

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • To lead a culture of high standards and expectations amongst the staff team.
  • Support and help drive the change management agenda of the College.
  • Supporting and participating in talent management and development activities.
  • Effectively communicate strategy, plans and actions to inspire and motivate teams and individuals.
  • Proactive in developing operational plans for area of responsibility.
  • Challenge others in open forum and accept challenge positively.
  • Accepts the responsibility and accountability within the scope of the role.
  • Promotes the "one team" approach in all areas of responsibility.
  • Completion and regular monitoring of the strategic risk register.
