Community Care Worker
Mansfield and Ashfield areas
£7 - £8 per hour + free uniform + perkbox vouchers + paid DBS check + in house training + QCF qualifications

Our client is recruiting Community Care Workers to work within the Mansfield and Ashfield areas.

Working to the principles of dignity, respect and valuing people, the role of a Community Care Worker is to provide personal, domestic and general support to help people to live as independently as possible.

Who are we looking for?
The successful candidates will have the skills and experience to undertake this role, including;
• A kind, caring personality is essential
• Driving licence and access to a car / other means of transport
• Ability to work at least 16 hours per week
• A commitment to helping people is essential
• Two written references

Successful candidates will be required to have DBS disclosure prior to commencing work and obtain class 1 business insurance on their vehicle

What will you be doing?
You will be providing a service of care to clients to enable them to lead as independent a lifestyle as possible. This care service will involve a programme of personal care and household management that is personalised for each client in the form of a care plan.
Care duties will therefore include:
• Dressing and undressing / preparing the client for day care or trips out
• Washing / bathing / showering / shaving / grooming / cleaning teeth
• Hair care (washing / brushing)
• Toileting and all aspects of personal hygiene
• Continence management
• Care of pressure sores (under appropriate nursing supervision)
• Getting in and out of bed
• Assisting with the use of aids to daily living / rehabilitation aids, as required
• Helping with rehabilitation programmes, as prescribed by Healthcare professionals
• Day / evening / night sitting services, as required
• Preparation of snacks and meals according to the client’s likes / dislikes.

Domestic / Household Services:
• General cleaning duties, to include cleaning / dusting / vacuuming / polishing
• Clearing refuse and rubbish
• Laundering / hand washing / ironing, as required
• Shopping, and the preparation of shopping lists and assistance with budgeting

Personal Services:
• Assistance with personal finances, to include paying bills
• Personal planning (birthdays, anniversaries, etc)
• Democratic rights (voting)
