Management accountant - 12 month FTC

Summary

The main purpose of this role is to manage the production of management accounting information and budget/forecast data for IT and Central Service functions whilst supporting the Head of Financial planning to drive through business initiatives and improvements.

The role will involve; production and analysis of reports, presenting information to groups at director level, being responsible for delivering change initiatives through to the business

Responsibilities of incumbent:

• Preparing and review IT and Central Services quarterly forecast information for shareholders.
• Provide quality variance analysis against forecasts and investigate/communicate changes
• Understand and report on IT project activity against the corporate forecast
• Production of monthly exec analysis, commentary and presentation to stakeholders
• Calculate/monitor/report against IT internal rate settings for quarterly forecasting and monthly reporting
• Produce information for and run 1:1 Director/Head of meeting with budget owners to explain their results
• Develop and implement a 12 month rolling forecast
• Manage month end accruals
• Timely PO and Invoice
• Develop existing reporting base to cover all material cost drivers
• Adhoc analysis as required
• Maintain high levels of quality amongst team
• Drive through initiatives set by the Head of Financial Planning

Ideal Candidate

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

• CIMA qualified or qualified by experience (essential)
• Highly computer literate with strong spreadsheet skills - pivots, V Look-Ups, macros etc (essential)
• Enjoys high pressure, high volume working environments (essential)
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with ability to create good working relationships with all levels of management across the company and comfortable in pushing back where required (essential)
• Previous experience working in the IT industry/project accounting (desirable)
• Previous management experience (desirable)
• Experience presenting financial information to senior management (essential)
• Track record of implementing change/developing new ways of working (essential)

Knowledge

• Detailed knowledge of Cognos (desirable)
