Servest are recruiting for a Caretaker to be based within a secondary school in the Hampstead area. You will be part of the janitorial team of onsite Caretakers, working a variety of shifts across the month (see below). You will be responsible, along with other members of your team for the overall site across many different maintenance areas as well as site security.

Location: Hampstead
Working hours: 36 hours 15 minutes per week (overtime available) Shifts are 8am-5.15pm or 10am-7.15pm working 16 days across 4 weeks, (including weekends- usually one weekend in 2), flexibility is required as you will need to cover a range of days throughout the week
Hourly Rate: £10.83 per hour

Day to day duties

The successful Caretaker will be involved in maintaining communal areas within the School, carrying out communal cleaning, grounds maintenance work, small maintenance repairs, Occasional heavy lifting and moving of furniture as well as covering health & safety and security issues onsite.

The Caretaker team is responsible for carrying out minor maintenance joinery tasks, maintenance plumbing, and cleaning tasks in addition to general re-decoration and waste management tasks.

We are looking for candidates who.

• Are seasonably practical and used to using own initiative- ideally from a maintenance background
• Experience of working within a property maintenance environment is highly desirable.
• Have excellent communication skills and that can communicate at all levels with staff, students and the client
• Basic IT skills (Microsoft office)
• Good working knowledge of current health & safety practices
• Ability to work independently to manage duties or as directed,

For this role you will need to complete a DBS check- Candidate with a previous DBS would be desirable
