MSSC (Marine Society and Sea Cadets) is a friendly and focused place to work. As the parent charity for two dynamic, nautical and seafaring organisations we aim to be the leading maritime charity for youth development and lifelong learning. We are the governing body of the Sea Cadets, which gives 14,000 young people a great head start in life through nautical adventure based on the customs and traditions of the Royal Navy, and Marine Society which supports the personal and professional development of seafarers where ever they are in the world.
We are currently seeking to appoint a Training Manager to work closely with the HQ based Sea Cadet Training Team, in helping create the design and content of training programmes for the Sea Cadets. This exciting role will play a key part in the delivery the 'Cadet experience', quality youth development and training opportunities.
This is a multi-faceted and challenging role which is vital in improving Cadet retention.
The successful candidate is likely to have experience from a similar training managerial background within the third sector, or will have commercial experience which is directly transferable to this role.
Regardless of background, the individual will need to be able to demonstrate the ability to work effectively with volunteers and will preferably have experience or knowledge of the youth or community sector. Candidates will also need strong interpersonal and project management skills and the ability to deal with a wide range of stakeholders. A flexible approach to work and working patterns is also a must.
