Casual Trainer / Assessor. Part Time - no fixed hours per week.

We are one of the largest Further Education Colleges in the UK with more than 22,000 learners studying with us on a wide range of courses. Our mission is to equip people with the skills they need to be successful in education, in work and business and in their personal lives. 

Our learners are from varied backgrounds with different ambitions and aspirations.

As a result of our ongoing success in the area of training unemployed adults we are looking for inspirational trainers to join the team, deliver both formal qualifications and informal training to unemployed adults on our short employability / vocational skills training programmes.

As part of this very rewarding position you will help to maximise learners' chances of getting and maintaining employment.

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated inspirational trainers to deliver a variety of employability skills / vocational subjects to unemployed adults (19+) in one or more of the areas below:

  • Teamworking Skills
  • Confidence for work
  • Job searching skills
  • Interview skills
  • Customer service
  • Retail Knowledge
  • IT Skills
  • Careers in construction
  • Administration
  • Health and Social Care
  • Cleaning

This role will involve establishing and maintaining effective teaching, learning, and assessment activities to keep learners motivated.

You will be expected to develop training materials to meet individual learner needs and facilitate innovative sessions that motivate some of the most disadvantaged adults. You will need to have a flexible approach to working and the ability to prioritise your workload to meet assessment deadlines and timely completion of paperwork.

A formal teaching and or assessing qualifications in addition to experience of working with groups of unemployed adults is essential. As is a Level 2 or GCSE equivalent in English and Maths together with appropriate vocational experience.

A qualification in providing information advice and guidance would be an advantage.

Candidates will be expected to attend ongoing training and development activities to maintain competence in assessment practice and the subject area.
