Site Hygienist

40 hours per week

£7.50 per hour for ages 21 and over, £6.44 for ages 18-20

The Eden project is a unique visitor attraction and this is a unique role to fill. 

We are looking for people to deal with a variety of different tasks across the whole site both in public areas and behind the scenes. 

This will in the main include cleaning of toilets, offices, and associated areas across all of the Eden Project with use of Professional cleaning equipment. 

In addition you will be required at times to assist at the recycling plant based at Eden and thus an understanding of recycling streams would be useful.

You need to be enthusiastic and prove a good level of flexibility as the role will also require driving hence a full driving licence is essential and other tasks at Eden as required offering a service to other site staff.

Knowledge of Health and Safety would also be an advantage however all training for the role would be given as required.

Role purpose

Responsible for the actual day to day delivery of cleanliness and hygiene and for various operations associated with sorting and processing Waste recycling streams across the Eden Project as directed by Line Managers, whilst also actively contributing to the education and enjoyment of visitors. Key accountabilities

1. Sorts and weighs waste streams into separate clean recyclables, cleaning bins and driving the road sweeper & waste Truck as directed.

2. Undertakes allocated Waste & Cleaning routines and ad-hoc cleaning duties as directed, ensuring all tasks are completed to the required quality standards and agreed timescales.

3. Maintains a clean and tidy work area, ensuring all activities are undertaken in accordance with Eden's policies and procedures whilst complying with Health and Safety and COSHH regulations.

4. Undertakes the timely and accurate completion of Waste and Cleaning routine records and other Hygiene related administration as required and as laid down in cleaning and waste management routines e.g. Monitoring, recording, entering data, COSHH, Risk assessments, Audits and all team paperwork.
