Salary Range: £6,600 - £7,800 per annum pro rata depending on level of experience and training required (full time equivalent £16,500 - £19,500)
About the Role and About Us
A new post of Finance Assistant has been created to support the Finance Manager at St Ives School of Painting.
Do you have an aptitude for working with figures? Are you someone who is adaptable and loves the satisfaction of giving clear and reliable information to your team members. This is a vital role in an exciting and busy arts organisation working with our Finance Manager to help the charity thrive. It could be an ideal opportunity to develop your skills further with support and training. You may already have significant experience of working in a financial and administrative role and are keen to apply your skills to a new setting. Either way we would love to hear from you.
The School is a charitable trust with a long history of teaching art courses to beginners and practising artists. We are a small team with a passion for delivering an excellent experience for our customers.
The School is situated in Grade II* Porthmeor Studios overlooking the stunning Porthmeor Beach. Our offices are a few minutes down the road at the Island Centre, St Ives, TR26 1NT. All staff are part of the 24 hour Employee Assist Programme. Staff are paid to attend one art course a year with us to help provide different perspectives on our work. There is also a pension scheme.
About you
You will be required to have 4 GCSE's including Maths and English or equivalent and some experience of working or training in a financial and administrative role. A qualification in accounting or bookkeeping is desirable but not essential.
You will be highly organised, motivated and able to work unsupervised and on your own initiative with an ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively under pressure. You must have good written and verbal communication skills and excellent IT skills including working with databases and Outlook packages such as Word and Excel.
Training will be provided and there may be an opportunity to gain a professional qualification in accounting or bookkeeping.
