Job title: Home Based Field Service First Line Manager - South London

Salary: Competitive with London weighting + company car

Location: Regional travel around South London

Working hours: 40 hours p/wk. working on a shift rota basis including some days, nights, weekends, over nights and bank holidays.

About the role

Provide Leadership and Management support to the Field Monitoring Team supporting the Field Service Manager in delivering a world class Electronic Monitoring Service. Drive continual improvement across key measures of efficiency, quality and compliance. Proactively managing employee's performance and behaviours to ensure high standards are maintained and the team have positive engagement with their Manager. The individual will manage in line with Capita Leadership Standard.

What you will do:

  • Ensure that all standard operational procedures are adhered to and that contract compliance is maintained.

  • Provide effective leadership to promote and maintain good working relationships

  • People Management:-

  • Sickness Absence Management

  • Performance Review - 1:1, appraisals, team meetings and coaching

  • Resourcing - Reviewing and Maintaining Capacity Plans, work rotas & annual leave

  • Disciplinary and grievance process management

  • Identify Training and Development needs - Development & Performance

  • Promote effective H&S practices and ensure compliance with Safe Systems of Work

  • Manage Change

  • Effective report writing and observation skills

  • Relationship Management - Internal & External

  • Communicate effectively with the team to ensure their knowledge and understanding of business issues and process changes is current and consistent

  • Support the FSM role and provide effective cover as required

  • Manage the equipment audit process to minimise losses and ensure accuracy of data

  • Identify areas for improvement & Implement change

  • Manage quality and compliance through data analysis and carrying out tasks as required by the quality management framework

  • Minimise SLA failures through data analysis and working collaboratively with colleagues to identify improvement opportunities

    Your experience will include:

  • Recognised management qualification

  • Performance Management Experience

  • An appreciation of the Capita Absence Management and Disciplinary Policy and Procedures

  • Management Experience

  • Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative with minimal supervision

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Working knowledge of the business objectives and values

  • Good time management and organisational skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Able to work under pressure

  • Results focused and able to manage a team of people to achieve stretching targets
