Quantity Surveyor - Groundwork's / Civil Engineering Contractor
Quantity Surveyor - Groundwork's / RC Frame - Colchester
An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join an exciting and rapidly expanding Civil Engineering / Groundwork's contractor. They are willing to recruit either an Intermediate or Senior level Quantity Surveyor with a proven and stable Civil Engineering background.
They are offering an excellent salary plus attractive benefits, as well as career progression opportunities for the right candidate.
The role will be based out of their offices in North Essex and will require travel to their sites located in and around London.
You will be working alongside the Contracts Managers dealing with client queries and developing commercially effective client relationships, in order to maintain future business and work.
You will be responsible for the effective sourcing, negotiation, assessment and management of sub-contract work; Reviewing and reporting on cost estimates and plans including preliminaries, sub-contract & material costs. You will take responsibility for the authorisation sub contract payments (including interim applications) and final accounts as well as agreeing variation values.
You should be a degree qualified and ideally a member of the R.I.C.S, Quantity Surveyor, with strong experience of working on Groundwork's, RC Frame, Civil Engineering or Roads projects, within a similar Civil Engineering contractor. You should have excellent knowledge of current construction contracts, including Design & Build and JCT contracts.
You should be IT literate and have an understanding of all MS Office programmes.
You will require a full UK driving licence for this role.
Location: Colchester, Essex
Salary: GBP50,000 - GBP70,000, negotiable depending on experience
