Our client has a number of opportunities for both full time and part time Medical Receptionists to join their friendly and busy medical practice in Greater Leys. Working as part of a team of 8, your main duties will include making appointments, checking-in patients, answering phones, scanning and routing correspondence.

What will you be doing?
As Medical Receptionist you will undertake general reception duties and give clerical/administrative support in order to ensure the efficient running of the practice, duties will include;

• Greet patients and visitors at the reception desk in a courteous, friendly way and deal courteously and efficiently with all front desk tasks including making and cancelling appointments, prescription collection, information requests and any other tasks or requests.
• Deal courteously and efficiently with the requirements of patients, doctors, colleagues and others by telephone, email or other communication method.
• Scan correspondence, results etc into patients’ computer records, recording appropriate codes and descriptions and forwarding items to doctors as required.
• Make appointments for patients and organise repeat prescriptions, receive and record requests for home visits and telephone calls, with all relevant details.
• Advise new patients regarding registration, explain procedures, registering patients according to practice protocols, liaising with other authorities as required (e.g. TVPCA), registering new patients on computer and arranging new patient health checks.
• Liaise with and assist as appropriate other members of the Primary Health Care Team
• On a rota basis, or as required, undertake premises opening procedures and make all necessary preparations to receive patients.

• Computer literacy and good keyboard skills
• Discretion, common-sense, ability to work in a busy environment and sense of humour are all essential
