Non-Executive Director
£15,880 p.a.
Salford Royal is looking for an exceptional Non-Executive Director with experience of providing strategic business development guidance and challenge, especially in relation to building strategic partnerships and understanding/experience of digital transformation strategies and innovative investment strategies.
“Saving Lives, Improving Lives” provides the vision and strategic direction for Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust and shapes how we act to improve the health and wellbeing of the people of Salford and the wider population we serve. As an organisation rated “Outstanding” by the Care Quality Commission, Salford Royal is ambitious to build upon our strong track record of delivering improvements in clinical outcomes, patient and staff experience and transformational efficiencies.
Central to its transformation ambition is Salford Royal’s accreditation as a Foundation Trust leader, and our emergent arrangements to develop a “Group” of Trusts. Since 2016/17 Salford Royal has provided leadership and operational support to the Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. From April 2017, Salford Royal and Pennine Acute have formalised Group working; the Boards of both organisations have delegated the exercise of significant functions to Group Committees in Common to oversee the delivery of reliable, high quality, evidence-based care and services.
As a Group we are one of the largest NHS organisations in the country, serving a population of over 1 million people, with some 17,000 staff members and more than 2000 patient beds.
The successful candidate will be a Non-Executive Director on the Salford Royal Board of Directors and as such, a Non-Executive Director on Group Committees in Common.
You will be appointed by and work closely with the Salford Royal Council of Governors, and the Shadow Group Council of Governors, ensuring continued local accountability.
You will be able to demonstrate an ability to challenge, positively influence and build consensus on a wide range of issues and be able to demonstrate a successful track record, independence and compliance with the Fit and Proper Persons Requirement for Directors.
