Job Title: Accounts Assistant

Location: Portsmouth, PO6

Salary: Competitive, dependent on skills and experience

Position: Full Time, Permanent

The Company is based in Portsmouth, Lakeside 3000, North Harbour; they're a leading European provider of quality insurance products for over 100 major brand clients. The company operates selling its insurance, assistance and service products to major clients and key accounts via multi sector offerings seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Finance Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect Information and run reports required by the Management Accountant using company database program
  • Assist the Management Accountant and/or Direct Debit Assistant with the preparation of statistical reports and/or analysis, including liaison with the Financial Controller when instructed.
  • Prepare daily banking & reconciliation of excess payments
  • Dealing with intercompany transfers between bank accounts
  • Process all refund requests on a weekly basis.
  • General filing for the finance team
  • Maintain clear and concise notes within the Company's system for recording all customer contact and action.
  • Adherence to the Company's regulatory requirements necessary for completion of tasks, where necessary.
  • Provide assistance to colleagues within the Finance Team, as may be required. Performance of ad hoc tasks for the Management Accountant and/or Financial Controller as and when required.

Key Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will have excellent keyboard skills, a good understanding of reconciliation, purchase ledger/sales ledger.
  • To succeed the candidate will be a team player willing to undertake a variety of tasks.
  • Experience of Microsoft products, especially Excel is essential. All appointments are subject to a satisfactory background checks.
