Description
Technology's rapid advancement in a global consumer marketplace has made the protection of information-about our clients' businesses, and the employees and customers at the heart of those businesses-more complex and important. Reed Smith's iCubed Group regularly advises on the issues that arise from processing, monetisation and protection of personal data.
While electronically stored and transmitted information is inherently global, the laws and enforcement mechanisms still trace national and political borders. This includes compliance with the EC Directives on data protection, and the privacy laws of other jurisdictions throughout Europe, the United states, Middle East and Asia. Our lawyers have devised new products designed to create user-friendly data management compliance solutions in order to aid clients in the ordinary and extraordinary transfers of data, and to help prevent breaches.
The London team specialises in data protection, technology and large, complex IT and business process outsourcing transactions. They advise on application development and management; software and content licensing; apps and smart technology; e-commerce, including hosting and content management; cloud computing and systems integration and social media. In addition, they advise on business process outsourcing transactions including human resources, finance and accounting, manufacturing and facilities management.
Their advice covers not only European, but also worldwide data protection laws, specialising in uses of data through technology innovation and development.
