Thin Client Infrastructure Engineer

This Thin Client Infrastructure Engineer job based in Milton Keynes will pay a salary of up to GBP40,000. Your new role You will be based in Milton Keynes with flexibility around working hours and location as you will be a part of the Thin Client roll out solution before transitioning into the BAU support and development of the Thin Client infrastructure throughout the business. The role will entail the following duties ..... ? On-going maintenance and development of the supporting Infrastructure for the Thin Client environment. This includes the Virtual Server Environments, MS 2012r2 severs, Printing environment, and associated AD and Group Policy environments. ? To lead and own the application virtualisation packaging, testing, and deployment of applications via App-V 5.1. ? To assist with supporting Technical relationships with 3rd party support partners and to continue to investigate and discover opportunities for continuing to evolve the Thin Client solution. ? Be the final escalation point for supporting the 1st, 2nd & other 3rd line support resources with inbound Thin Client issues and defects that require escalation. ? Provide cover and assistance to the other Thin Client team members and other 3rd Line Service Desk resources during holidays, sickness, etc.. ? To work with the Core Project team to ensure all issues and defects are resolved within the agreed SLA. ? Provide support and "overflow resource" for managing roll-out set-up processes, setting containers, group policies, setting up users, printers, and all agreed technical set-up activities for a new site deployment ? To assist with out of hours activities such as patching, and upgrades in order to maintain and upgrade the Thin Client environment What you'll need to succeed Strong general IT support and 3rd Line experience required. Experience and ability to own and troubleshoot issues through to resolution. Strong Microsoft 2008 and 2012 Server Administration experience. Strong MS & VMWare server hardware maintenance and design experience including virtual environments. Strong IS Service and Infrastructure experience. Strong Active Directory understanding and experience required Strong Group Policy experience App V5.1 SP2 & SP3 or Citrix XenApp Development and support experience (Preferred but not essential) ? Understanding and ability to maintain the VM Infrastructure of the Thin Client Solution ? Excellent communication skills both internally and with customers ? The ability to follow internal Change Control processes and agreed deployment procedures. ? The ability to work under pressure and multi task a number of responsibilities and activities at any one time.
