Department Profile:
The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 2,600 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm's books and records, and by contributing to Firmwide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanley's various industry and government regulators, and also serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley's various businesses and its senior management team.

Team Profile:
The Legal Entity Control Group (LECG) is responsible for the financial management and control of the Firm's legal entities. We are a well-established team in Glasgow that currently manages over 600 London and New York based entities. LECG is involved at the inception of each entity, responsible for financial control whist live and oversees ultimate legal closure. Whilst entities are active, this team is responsible for preparing audited and unaudited statutory financial statements; management accounts; US Federal Reserve entity level reporting; and other reporting for senior management. We are also responsible for ensuring that standard monthly and quarterly financial reporting controls and validations operate correctly.

Pr i m a ry R e s p o n s i bili t i e s:
An associate is required to work to support the production and governance process for the FINREP submissions. The role will primarily be responsible for counterparty reporting involving managing the counterparty data integrity and FINREP templates. This will involve close liaison with data source owners and coordinating with Subject Matter Experts such as Global Disclosure Standards & Control (GDSC) and Product Controllers in multiple locations.

Specific Responsibilities:
- Understanding FINREP data requirements, identification of the source systems and data flows.
- Monthly data management remediating gaps in reporting data
- Coordination and monitoring of account attestation including reporting results to management on a monthly basis
- Monitoring and updating FINREP reference data
- Managing strong working relationships with data source owners and coordinating with Subject Matter Experts
- Production of and co-ordination the counterparty templates that make up the quarterly FINREP submissions
- Analytical review of FINREP reporting and reconciliation of FINREP templates to monthly management accounts, regulatory returns and the IFRS annual and interim consolidated statutory accounts for the main UK regulated entity and its subsidiaries
- Developing on going requirements of the evolving process and system needs

The role will also require participation in the continued broader development of the LEC framework and function in Glasgow, particularly where there is a relationship with other monthly/quarterly consolidation work and legal entity reporting for the main UK regulated entity and group.

Qualifications
Skills required (essential):
Candidates for the role should be accountancy qualified (CA, CIMA, ACCA), ideally with experience of:
- Financial reporting, including consolidation reporting
- Financial services / products
- Managing and communicating with senior stakeholders

The candidate should display the following skill set:

- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Strong work ethic with the ability to take responsibility for completing tasks and working to tight deadlines
- Appreciation of escalation and risk awareness
