Production Operative

Our client is one of the UK’s leading suppliers of fresh and processed potatoes, meeting the broadest ranging needs of major retailers, food processors, caterers and wholesalers. They operate from 10 locations within the UK and also mainland Europe employing in excess of 800 people.

They are looking to recruit Production Operatives (Packers and Graders)to work in their busy packing department in Floods Ferry Near March, Cambridgeshire.

Working hours:

- 4 on 4 off shift pattern Days 0600-1800 £7.83 p/h
- 4 on 4 off shift pattern Nights 1800-0600 £8.28 p/h

They are looking for Production Operatives on their production lines to:

• Grade the potatoes to ensure the packs meet customer standards by removing potatoes that do not meet specification.
• Pack potatoes bags of various weights from 700g to 7.5kg into trays, label and stack product as required and directed.
• Ensure accuracy by checking of codes / dates / promotional labels as well as foreign bodies and damage.
• To build Moveable Units for use when packing product.
• Assist the Line Leader in the changeover process e.g. changing films, tubes and scanning batch sheets etc.
• Assist in the operation of the checkweigher, GIC, Odenburg, Celox, Yamato Weigher, Robot and CPS ensuring the correct programme is selected at all times.
• Utilise downtime by cleaning and tidying line and/or work area e.g. wiping down, tidying up bags, sweeping up potatoes etc, following the clean as you go procedure.
