Salary: GBP47,638 to GBP53,598 per annum

We are looking to recruit a Head of Inclusion to lead on GBMET's wide ranging programmes developed for students with additional needs, engagement barriers and those who require some additional support in making a successful transition into College.

The provision in this area includes: Foundation Learning from E1-L2, Princes Trust, 14-16 Engagement Programmes and supported programmes within a wide range of vocational areas.

The successful applicant will be an experienced practitioner and manager, have a longstanding commitment to supporting inclusion and be able to build effective partnerships internally and externally. Experience of developing new programmes and supporting those students at risk of exclusion from school or other programmes within the college is desirable.

Main purpose and scope of the post:

To lead and manage the work of curriculum teams to ensure an exceptional student experience; ensuring teaching, learning and assessment is of a consistently high standard and that students achieve, succeed, progress and gain sustainable employment

To ensure continuous and measureable quality improvements, contributing to the achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs) within designated curriculum areas

To lead and manage designated curriculum areas (16-18 Classroom Based and Adult Learning, Apprenticeships, Higher Education and Commercial programmes) across different sites

To work with the Assistant Principal to achieve student recruitment targets by contributing to schools liaison activity and other recruitment activities

To manage and develop curriculum leaders and teaching staff, effectively deploying resources, actively identifying and supporting talent and addressing unsatisfactory performance

To be an active member of the management team and to communicate and, implement operational plans through regular team meetings and other approaches within the areas of responsibility

To support the Assistant Principal to build and maintain effective relationships with organisations and agencies including local authorities, schools, businesses, community and voluntary organisations.

To contribute to the effective implementation of merger and the development of Greater Brighton Metropolitan College by working with the Assistant Principal to bring together curriculum teams to share practice and ensure comparable outcomes across sites

To effectively manage budgets and other College resources within areas of responsibility

To undertake other duties commensurate with the post as defined by the Assistant Principal

To promote the College vision and mission and embody the College values

To comply with College policies and procedures at all times.
