Newman Health & Wellbeing is looking to appoint a Receptionist/Administrator for its Counselling & Psychotherapy Service, which offers affordable and accessible counselling to the local community.

You will be based in a counselling centre at Newman University in Bartley Green, Birmingham.

The main part of the Receptionist/Administrator role will be to provide a welcoming, professional introduction to the service and will involve liaising with clients and counsellors. There will also be some wider administrative support required in the role for the counselling service and supporting business development activity within Newman Health & Wellbeing.

Applicants will need to have relevant experience in a counselling/healthcare or charitable environment, and experience of providing administrative support.  Excellent communication skills, with the ability to demonstrate empathy and sensitivity to clients accessing counselling are also essential. An understanding of client confidentiality and experience of dealing with client payments would be helpful. A sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and a commitment to customer service is essential, together with the ability to work effectively both on your own initiative and as part of a team.

The hours of work are 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday), including two evenings. A job share arrangement (2-3 days per week) may also be considered.
