Vehicle Technician

New opportunity not to be missed! Arriva Bus & Coach Ltd have an opportunity for a Vehicle Technician to join our growing team based in Cleckheaton. The successful Vehicle Technician will receive a competitive salary of £25,000 per annum.

We specialise in the sale, rental and finance of new and used vehicles along with excellent, nationwide servicing and repair and parts support.

Reporting to the Workshop Controller, as our Vehicle Technician you will carry out quality, preparation, repairs and maintenance to a varied fleet of new, used and rental bus and coach.

Key responsibilities as our Vehicle Technician:

- Carry out thorough inspections recording all defects and making recommendations on repairs / maintenance / MOT

- Carrying out mechanical and electrical repairs to vehicles presented to the workshop

- Ensure all relevant parts are retained for warranty or other  inspection

- Ensure all tooling, company or otherwise, is safe and relevant to the required task

- Accurate recording of applied time via the DMS system.

- Occasional travel to customers or supply partners sites to carry out the above

- Attendance when required at manufacturers training courses (occasionally abroad)

- Occasional travel to off-site storage sites – movement and delivery of vehicles

- Care and housekeeping of the workshop and equipment

- Communication of any issues including  H&S, Equipment, facility or vehicle issues to the Workshop Manager or Supervisor

Our ideal Vehicle Technician:

- Engineering qualification to City and Guilds/ NVQ level 3 or equivalent

- Excellent engineering ability, including electrical work

- Ability to operate a laptop based diagnostic tool

- Experience of working in a busy transport operating / repair workshop

- Diagnostic ability

- Awareness of customer needs 

- Polite and professional

- Well-ordered and organized

- Flexibility

- Team player

- UK Driving license
