Technical Consultant – Graduate Opportunity 
Woking, Surrey 
£Excellent DOE Plus Bonus 

Our client is a leading producer of personnel security solutions and technical security software. They are now looking for a Technical Consultant to join their team in Woking. 

This is an outstanding role for an IT security professional looking for their next step or a talented and ambitious graduate who is eager to develop a career in the access control sector.

As a Technical Consultant, you will join our client’s Professional Services Team and will be tasked with a wide variety of identity and access management projects. 

Within the Professional Services Division, you will form a key element of the implementation service arm and will take part in some of the most complex and challenging project activity in the world. 

You will work across multiple project teams simultaneously and will be involved in integration, deployment, testing and documentation activities. Following a comprehensive and proven project methodology, you will design, deploy, test and deliver our client’s solutions to customers. 

A major element of your role will involve attending customer workshops and meetings and acting as an advisor and subject matter expert. Travel will account for 30% - 50% of your time. 

Additionally, your role will involve: 

- Implementing solutions into customer environments 
- Delivering and reviewing technical documentation as part of the project delivery process 
- Providing technical training and support to customers during the project delivery stages 
- Maintaining your knowledge of market trends within information security and identity and access management 

Interested? If so, you will need: 

- A BSc (or equivalent education) in computing, a physical science or engineering discipline OR at least two years’ experience in the IT security industry and be comfortable with business and technical aspects 
- Experience with Microsoft Server platforms and/or Linux 
- Experience of the software development lifecycle and methodologies 
- Experience of some of the following technologies: cryptography, databases, web applications, network security or smart cards 
- Experience in the ways that IT security products are applied in the market to address needs such as identity management, identification, authentication, digital signing of transactions, single sign-on, access control, non-repudiation, privacy and confidentiality 
- A willingness to learn and develop skills around industry standards such as: X.509, PKCS#11, OpenID, and/or OAuth 

Our client is also keen to hear from graduates who are passionate about learning and development and eager to forge a career in the access control sector. 

Motivated and hard-working, as a Technical Consultant, you’ll need to be a team player with strong interpersonal and English communication skills, both written and verbal. A passion for IT and IT security is also key. 

Due to the nature of this role, candidates must be able to gain security clearance and pass pre-screening prior to commencing the role.
