Mainscale English Teacher

Start September 2017

Are you an enthusiastic English teacher who wants to make a difference to the outcomes for young people?

Arnold Hill Academy is part of The Trent Academies Group, an emerging multi-academy trust, based in Nottingham. Our aim is to support schools and academies in providing outstanding education for their pupils. The Trust currently consists of Rushcliffe School, an outstanding academy in West Bridgford and The Farnborough Academy, an improving academy in Clifton and Arnold Hill Academy, Arnold also an improving academy.

All three academies have seen great improvements in GCSE results in English and in our two sixth forms at Rushcliffe and Arnold Hill A level results have also seen significant improvements.

In our Group we work together, share staff, join up expertise, build on each other's strengths, pool resources and combine facilities, so that everybody, staff and pupils, gets the chance to shine and achieve their best. We have an annual Literary Festival which runs across the three academies, attracting authors and poets who have proved to be inspirational for many of our pupils.

We are seeking to appoint a motivating and dedicated teacher of English who has the ability to push the boundaries of Learning and Teaching. The ideal candidate will be able to operate within a dynamic and forward thinking faculty and be focused on developing exciting and engaging learning experiences for students across the 11-19 age range. You may also have other skills or subject areas that you can offer and we are always interested in talking to teachers who can develop literacy and love of literature through a range of mediums, whether this is in the arts or other curriculum areas.

We are happy to hear from experienced and newly qualified teachers. The important thing is that you have a passion for English.

Whilst this opportunity is at Arnold Hill Academy there will be flexibility to take advantage of the diversity of academies within the Group which can provide fantastic opportunities for teachers to develop their practice and skills.

The Group offers a full induction programme, excellent preparation for the next stage of your career and a rich menu of extra-curricular activities.

We are fully committed to fostering a love of English in all pupils and certainly play a significant part in ensuring that ‘Everyone is given the chance to shine brightly.'
