Early Years Manager
Pilton Pre-School - Shepton Mallet BA4
Pilton Pre-school is looking for a vibrant and dynamic character to lead our highly qualified and experienced team as Early Years Manager at our thriving established setting.
Our key focus is supporting children's emotional well-being and nurturing individual's unique personalities through a gentle and child centred approach. We follow a play based curriculum where practitioners maximise learning and development through teaching ‘in the moment'. We actively encourage collaborative reflective practice that promotes the continual professional development of the setting and staff team.

As a Committee run Registered Charity, Fundraising is a key element of the settings operation.
We are looking for a very special individual with passion, motivation and drive, with excellent Early Years knowledge and management experience. The right candidate will have a clear dedication to achieving the very best for children, staff, the setting as a whole and the wider community. You must share a genuine commitment to promoting the settings core ethos.
You will work alongside our qualified Business Manager and Deputy Managers to ensure the smooth and efficient running of all aspects of the setting and to drive the ethos and vision of the pre-school ever further whilst ensuring the setting is legally compliant.
You will be responsible for:
- Legal compliance; Staff management and HR; Admissions and occupancy; Sustainability and viability; Premises management and development; Community cohesion and Leading fundraising events with Committee
- Overseeing and supporting the care and education program in line with the settings ethos
- Overseeing and supporting the settings Financial Management; Committee & Charity requirements; Grants and Marketing
- Safeguarding Designated Lead, H&S representative and Nominated individual for Ofsted.
Full time, term time only - 35+ hours per week
Salary negotiable depending on qualification and experience
Essential Criteria
- Minimum full and relevant Lv 5 in Early Years with at least 2 years' experience managing an Early Years setting.
- Clear and demonstrable knowledge and experience of managing all aspects of an Early Years business
- SCIL ‘Introduction to Child Protection'
- Enhanced DBS Clearance and membership to the DBS Update Service.
The position will be subject to 2 Early Years references (deemed to be Excellent to Good)
Desirable Criteria
- Full and relevant Lv 6 in Early Years plus QTS / EYP / EYT (or working towards)
- Current Paediatric 1st aid & Food hygiene Lv 2
- LSCB Working Together to Safeguard Children
- Experience of managing a Committee and Charity
