Our client is recruiting on behalf of an innovative designer and manufacturer of metal edge welded bellows. They are now looking for a General Manager to join their team and progress into a Managing Director position within a short space of time.

In this important role, you will have the chance to challenge yourself, share your knowledge with a passionate team and influence the future of a thriving organisation.

As the General Manager, you’ll oversee all aspects of the company’s design, manufacturing and sales operations.

Leading by example, you will inspire, motivate and guide a team of 12, ensuring that all output, sales and profitability targets are met.

Initially, you will work closely with the company’s founding Directors to develop forward plans, commercial strategies, forecasts and financial budgets for 2017 and 2018.

You will take responsibility for the general running of the business, as well as leading the generation of new sales opportunities with prospective and existing customers. Additionally, you will ensure that all products are fit for purpose, satisfy all relevant regulatory requirements and pose no risk to end users.

To be considered, you will need experience of the following:

- Private sector engineering manufacturing operations
- Mechanical engineering manufacturing and fabrication techniques, including press tools, CNC machinery, welding and finishing
- Dealing with suppliers and sub-contract organisations
- Securing sales, making presentations, closing sales and successfully managing key accounts
- At a minimum, an NVQ Level 3 qualification in a mechanical engineering subject

Due to the travel requirements of this role, a full, valid driving licence and passport are also required.

As the General Manager, you’ll be a natural leader with excellent communication and presentation skills. Assertive and analytical, you’ll also be able to drive positive change and possess superb planning, time-management and prioritisation abilities.
