The Role: Software Test Engineer Salary: GBP30,000 - GBP45,000 A globally operating photonics group are seeking a Software Test Engineer to join their site in Bracknell, Berkshire. Do you have experience of test automation and knowledge of embedded software evaluation and automation techniques? If so, then you may be the Test Engineer we're looking for. What will you be doing? As Software Test Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring existing test processes, including software unit tests alongside manual testing performed as a continuous process (for changes) and as a full regression test (for releases). You will have the ability to bridge the gap by creating and maintaining automated tests scripts, which will be included as part of the existing continuous integration. What skills should you have? Experience of test automation Knowledge of embedded software evaluation and automation techniques (or at least in interest in working within an embedded environment) Test automation scripting experience (preferably shell or python) for embedded products running Linux Familiarity with Linux working environment Although not an essential requirement of the role, if you have knowledge of Jenkins, JIRA and SVN, then this may benefit your application.
