Warehouse and Logistics Manager

We offer a ‘one-stop shop’ to industry.  This entails the usual warehousing functions. 

We are recruiting a Manager to join our well- established company in East Derbyshire.  The role will include predominantly overseeing the warehouse facilities to ensure that it runs efficiently and smoothly.  The package is negotiable dependent upon experience and / or relevant skills.

About the role

As Warehouse and Logistics Manager your main role will be the day to day running of the warehouses along with directly managing staff (approximately 15 personnel) and reporting to other managers and the Directors.

Key Responsibilities as our Warehouse & Logistics Manager:

• Ensuring timely delivery of goods and checking records for accuracy.
• Production planning including producing and analysing reports and spreadsheets detailing delivery schedules, stock levels and forecasts.
• Management of staff including recruiting, appraisals and performance management.
• Analysing staffing levels to use labour resources efficiently.
• Overseeing stock control and storage (including ordering products and keeping the stock system up to date).
• Liaising with customers where necessary to understand their requirements and provide excellent service.
• Working with other managers with regards to Health and Safety and Quality, as well as administration of the warehouse facility.

Qualifications and experience:

• Previous experience of managing a team of people within a warehouse and logistics environment
• Competent in the use of spreadsheets.
• Experience of working to strict health and safety standards and ensuring compliance.
• Knowledge of tools is preferable but not essential.
• Good time management and methodical approach.
• Have the ability to work accurately at speed in a fast-paced environment
• Be able to work well within a small team yet be able to work using their own initiative.
• Be hardworking, reliable, trustworthy, motivated, committed and loyal.
• Be able to manage time effectively to meet strict deadlines.
