Dawnus is a leading civil engineering and construction company with over 900 employees. The company currently operates across the UK and overseas. Established in 2001, Dawnus has grown from £2 million turnover in 2002 to circa £250 million, making it one of the fastest growing construction companies in the UK.

We have secured some exciting infrastructure and construction projects in North Wales and therefore are looking for exceptional General Construction Operative Apprentices who can develop within the business through training and development.

An apprenticeship enables you to earn a salary whilst you are studying for nationally recognised qualifications. You’ll get to work alongside and learn from our experts who have a wide range of knowledge, capability and experiences to share with you to help you become a competent Construction Operative.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing company that invests highly in its employees and views your professional development as a priority.

What does the apprenticeship involve?

This is a 2-year apprenticeship which includes attendance at the CITB training centre in Birmingham on a block release basis to study the NVQ Level 2 in Construction Operations (travel expenses to the training centre will be covered by the Company). You’ll learn about building methods and materials, including how to set out for groundworks (including kerb-laying and paving as well as drainage, laying and testing). You’ll also be taught about concrete, from the testing of fresh concrete to laying and finishing.

You will develop an understanding of construction skills, terminology and methodology, as well as developing practical understanding of the importance of health and safety and the environmental requirements involved.

Requirements:

We’re looking for apprentices who relish a challenge and love getting stuck into solving problems. You should be a strong team player with commitment and enthusiasm.

Although no previous experience is required, you are required to have a genuine passion for developing a career in the construction industry.
