Logistics Manager
Based in Manchester (M11)
Salary up to £50,000 + Excellent Benefits
The UK's leading and best-known food-on-the-go retailer are currently looking to recruit an experienced Logistics Manager at their production facility in Manchester. The role is key in overseeing the efficient operation of the site, with the primary focus on managing the logistics process, involving stores, despatch, transport and customer services, ensuring all aspects run smoothly and in accordance with relevant legislation.
The Role
o Managing a budget of around £4.7m, 80 staff split between day / night shifts, and a fleet of 25 18t trucks
o Liaising with the production and retail management teams to establish measures to achieve continuous improvement, assisting in the development and implementation of company policies and procedures
o Regular reviews and recommendations for action to improve customer satisfaction
o Achieving budget within the function and ensuring key cost control areas are kept in line
o Leading a team in line with the values, with high visibility through regular meetings, carrying out PDRs, and coaching, promoting a culture of achievement and responsibility
The Candidate
The ideal candidate must have a National Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC), Class C license, operational management experience within a time-sensitive temperature controlled dispatch / distribution environment. Strong organisational and planning skills will be required as will effective communication and influencing skills and a demonstrable track record of achieving business objectives through people. A Logistics qualification and Diploma or Degree level is preferred however not essential.
Flexibility will also be required; while the role is Monday to Friday the Manchester site operates 24 hours a day and there will be occasions when weekend, nightshift and bank holiday cover will be required.
